Have you ever put your coat on the wrong-way? Or couldn't find the right arm holes in your trousers? Or had a day where you just didn't want to wear clothes?
Dive into a world of colour, texture and movement with Second Hand Dance. This new show invites us all to be as creative as we can with the clothes we wear, finding our own favourites and tempting us to try getting dressed just a little bit differently.
Climb a mountain of clothes, plunge into piles of pants or swing in swathes of skirts. Whether they're big or small, scratchy or soft, ordinary or extraordinary – one thing is for sure – clothes and getting dressed will never be the same again.
Second Hand Dance collaborates with dancers, artists and the public to make thought provoking, joyful and highly visual dance performances for all ages.

Show
Through a synthesis of ballet, contemporary and African dance, Bawren Tavaziva's interpretation of the Carmen story is strikingly powerful, sensual and beautifully performed by six stunning dancers. The specially commissioned original sound track is composed and arranged by Fayyaz Virji of the Warriors International.
Played out through the entanglement of desire, deceit and corruption in an African township where military corruption is rife, Carmen dangerously and defiantly ignores all warnings in the perusal of a better life but tragedy follows her like a shadow in hot sun.

Show
Touching and emotionally charged, Empathy reflects on what influences us to empathise with others. Five dancers jostle for position – folding, lifting and balancing against one another as they navigate through a beguiling laser light design.
Taking inspiration from the work of psychologist Simon Baron-Cohen (Zero Degrees of Empathy), Empathy explores the human emotional spectrum by creating a truly theatrical experience where movement, sound and lighting combine in equal parts.
The evening performance of EMPATHY is part of coLAB; a day of workshops, talks and performances exploring new technologies that are informing the future of movement.
£15, £12 Concs for a combined ticket with coLAB.
